Introduction to Homework

It's HOMEWORK time!!

 A homework packet will be placed in your child's binder. 

Homework will be given out each Monday 

and collected each Friday.

Homework will consist of several different activities.

1.  SPELLING

 10 Spelling Words addressing specific phonics skills
-  a sheet in the homework packet will use these 10 words for the activities
-  there are 12 activities to choose form

 Challenge Words  - for those that like to spell difficult words
-  there are no activities for these words
-  just practice spelling them

 HFW (high frequency words) - read by “sight”
-  there are no activities for these words
-  just practice spelling them

2.  Math Facts

 10 Math Facts to practice fluency
-  there are no activities for the math facts
- just memorize them

3.  Skill Sheets
There are sheets that are labeled

-        Monday

-        Tuesday

-        Wednesday

-        Thursday

5.  Reading

Read nightly for 15 minutes.  

Record the book and # of minutes read in the planner.

A test on Friday will include the following:
10 Words
Challenge Words
HFW
Math Facts
