ABOUT ME
While attending East Forsyth High School, I was introduced to a wonderful program - North Carolina Teaching Fellows.  From there, I received a full scholarship to Western Carolina as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow where I received my B.S.Ed. in 1997.  In 2010, I graduated from Greensboro College with a M. Ed.

During my 17 years at Cash Elementary, I have taught K, 1st, and 2nd grade.  I hear a lot of people say, "I don't know how you do it!“  Well, it's so much fun to watch them transition into an independent and trusting community that takes ownership for its actions. Anyways, I just love teaching my second graders!

On a personal note, I have been married to Derek for 11 years and our son Chance is entering 5th grade.  I like the fact that my husband attended Cash Elementary as well.

BEHAVIOR

SNACK
Please send an individual snack for your child.
We usually eat snack after specials.

CLASS PARTIES
We will have treats for the holidays.
Information will go out regarding items to be sent in.

It is OK to if you want to send something in for your child’s birthday.  Do not send invitations unless you send one for each child.

A Buddy List will be sent home for you to use.

ABSENCES
Please send an excuse for any absences when your child returns to school.
If you would like, I can send make-up work to the office or
send it home with a sibling or
neighbor.

TARDIES
The TARDY BELL rings at 8:10.
It is very important that your child arrives on time because the morning work leads into other assignments. In addition, this is an essential time for completing any late work or missing assignments.

TRANSPORTATION
If you plan to pick your child up early, please check in at the office and the secretary will call the room.  Please note that we have recess later in the day so it may take your child a little bit longer to walk up to the classroom and gather his belongings.

I will ONLY RELEASE your child to someone on the pick-up card or if you have sent a note.

This is the same with the bus or car riders.  If there is not note for your child, I will resume with normal transportation procedures.
